Are you a student looking for an internship in an entrepreneurial company? Throughout the year we have a position available for one student intern, 3 to 5 days per week, in our New York City studio. As an intern you will work with both our studio and stores teams. Your day might include quality control, tagging and distributing merchandise from our studio to our stores; organizing tech packs, samples, fabrics and notions to launch the production of a new style; collecting imagery and writing copy for newsletters, organizing samples before, during and after a photoshoot; hand cutting samples; brainstorming and implementing social media ideas; uploading new products to our website... and a ton more.
If you have a hell yes attitude, a roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic and a passion for leading with an inspiring and inclusive voice on the subject of women and beauty, we'd love for you to reach out.
Please email your resume and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Are you looking to join an independent, sister-owned, women run fashion company? We're looking for an awesome teammate to join our three person team to help run our Malia Mills store in the Brentwood Country Mart.
Are you a retail associate looking for a new challenge? A go-getter eager to work in a very hands-on environment? Someone who wants to open their own store one day? Someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about fashion and style? This is a great opportunity for outgoing, roll up your sleeves and ready to rock candidates who really vibe with our style, our mission and our entrepreneurial spirit.
Below is a snapshot of what we're all about at Malia Mills - if this sounds motivating and you'd like to learn more we'd love to hear from you.
All of us at Malia Mills essentially run a small business within a small business. We don't have numerous layers of management. We run the show from A to Z. We all focus on the nitty gritty as well as the big picture. Personalized fit and styling sessions? RFID inventory management and merchandising racks? Moving displays and lifting boxes up to 50lbs? Running reports and implementing marketing initiatives? Cleaning, organizing and climbing ladders to replace light bulbs? Yes, yes, yes, yes, hell yes. And more!
Jumping into the deep end and going for it is how we work. There is a lot of training as well as loads of learning by doing. From the start, you'll need to seize the day with the power of positive thinking, a warm, enterprising spirit and a let's make this a kickass day attitude. Your curiosity about people, places and things makes each day interesting, productive and gratifying.
On a scale of 1 to 10 we're looking for computer skills of 7 or better. Technology is a big part of the day - from mastering our POS system to staying connected to our store teams and New York City studio to nurturing relationships with our customers and beyond.
Our stores are small, dynamic spaces where we make connections and swap stories during our one-on-one fit and styling sessions. Think of a time when you visited a restaurant or hotel where the energy was inviting, the personal touch was palpable, and the overall experience you had with the team made you feel really damn good. That's what we strive to do each day in our stores.
We're looking for teammates who:
- have loads of initiative to learn and improve life skills - from communication skills to computer skills and everything in between.
- raise their hand often to ask a question, share an idea, teach others, or offer to go out of their way to help.
- are coachable and have the humility to own their work, learn and grow.
- are reliable, proactive and take pride in a job well done.
- are friendly, confident, social and enjoy having conversations with others.
- are mindful of keeping the energy up and good chi flowing.
- have a can-do team spirit and enjoy supporting others near and far.
- are undeterred by rocking a last minute overnight shipment, ready to step in and run the show when a teammate is on vacation, eager to join a last minute trip to work a trunk show.
This is a full-time position, including weekdays, weekends and holidays. Please note our store hours are typically 10am - 6pm and because we often run the store solo we can't do half shifts.
Please reach out to us at email@example.com - here's what you'll need:
1. Please write a short note about what you’re looking for in your next adventure.
2. Please also include your resume.
